Fernando Pérez is a Chicano poet from Los Angeles, California. He received his MFA in Poetry from Arizona State University in 2010. His work has appeared in several journals, including Puerto del Sol, Hinchas de Poesía, Crab Orchard Review, Waxwing and Huizache. His first book, A Song of Dismantling, was published by UNM Press in 2018 and was selected as a finalist for both the Andrés Móntoya Poetry Prize and the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry First Book Award. Fernando was a 2020 recipient of a 4Culture Artist Grant for his photography series set in Mexico City titled, "Between Work and Rest." He currently lives in Seattle where he is an assistant professor of English at Bellevue College.
